Update - EHIC in Costa del Sol

Ok, so today I called directly to the billing department at the costa del sol Hospital, and they confirmed that "all the urgent medical treatment is covered by the EHIC".

So that's it. The urgent treatment is covered in all of the public hospitals (Clinico of malaga, Carlos Haya, Materno infantil) and public hospitals of "private management" ( CARE benalmadena, CARE Mijas, and Costa del Sol).

In the rare case that you have problems in those hospitals, in my other blog post you can read about what I would do.

Remember that the CARE in Benalmadena is just behind the Xanit Hospital (private)!!! there was an article in the Olive press of a mother who took his son to a "benalmadena hospital" and they wanted to charge them. I cannot confirm which one that hospital was, but I can bet it was Xanit. So be careful.

I really doubt that these hospitals have been refusing the EHIC.
